In 2022 we were delighted to be celebrating three major employee anniversaries. Ed Lovell began at Walcon 50 years ago as a boy aged 16 and trained as a welder before moving on to become highly proficient in all aspects of marina installation and maintenance. As our senior installation engineer, Ed has represented Walcon around the world and there is nothing about the construction of marinas that Ed has not turned his hand to and excelled. He was always in demand, but nothing gave him more pleasure than heading to the airport wherever he was working and returning home to his family in Southampton. Everyone at Walcon Marine congratulates Ed on an outstanding achievement.
Paul Harris is marking 40 years with the company. Paul joined us aged 19, first manufacturing and installing pontoons and later becoming first part of the decking team, then foreman of the shop. He is renowned for his pace of work, singing and general good form and is known by all at Walcon as Frog, a nickname that has stuck from his early years.
Sandra Carrson has completed 25 years in our finance department, most recently being responsible for the payroll and purchase ledger. In her spare time Sandra enjoys travelling overseas and caravanning with her grandchildren.
