Replacement pier for Fox's Marina at Ispwich

Following the replacement by Walcon last year of Pier A at Fox’s Marina, the UK East Coast’s premier refit and repair yard, we have been back again to repeat the procedure for Pier B. At the same time, we also installed a new 16.5m x 1.5m steel bridge and a custom-made bridge landing pontoon. Custom pontoons were also used for the working pontoons and travel hoist access

The new pier has been upgraded using System 21 pontoons and the new 9, 10, and 10.5-metre finger pontoons on its northern side can now accommodate boats of up to 15 metres in length, an increase of three metres. Other features include GRP mesh decking throughout, flush mounted shore power sockets and one and three tonne mooring cleats. The main walkway is ducted along one side and at its end has an extra-wide hammerhead pontoon with an encapsulated pile guide.

The southern side of Pier B is unobstructed, allowing even larger yachts to moor alongside. This is to accommodate the large sailing yachts built by Oyster Yachts, which has a facility on-site. We will return next year to work on Pier C.
