New visitors berthing for Folly Inn IOW

The Folly Inn, a popular pub for yachtsmen on the Medina River not far upstream from Cowes, Isle of Wight, has a new berthing facility for visitors. The previous linear pontoon reached by a fixed walkway plus a bridge has been replaced by Walcon with a perpendicular 42-metre walkway offering alongside berthing for keelboats on its river side plus, on the landward side, for small boats and dinghies a total of five mooring pontoons running parallel to the bridge plus a landing pontoon for the new 18-metre aluminium bridge. The facility is held in place by five piles.

The client was Greene King, the UK's largest pub retailer and brewer, and after the project was completed Greene King project manager Tom Chapman commented: “Walcon was instrumental in the success of the project and were extremely professional throughout. I would happily work with Walcon should the opportunity arise again in the future.”
