New bridge and pontoons for MDL's Torquay marina

A winter project at MDL's scenic Torquay marina to replace a 40-year old access bridge and bridge landing pontoon turned into something rather larger when it was decided to additionally replace an additional 20 walkway pontoons. This was not a problem, particularly as the Walcon Wizard multi-purpose barge was on-site just a few miles away at Premier Marina's Noss on Dart marina development project and took some time out to come down to remove the old access bridge and drop its specially-designed replacement into position.

With limited shore space at Torquay, all the new System 21 pontoons were delivered fully assembled and ready for insertion while the old pontoons were lifted out and taken back to our facility at Vancouver Wharf, Southampton to be dismantled and disposed of. The entire project took just seven days and our thanks go to Torbay Seaways, who allowed us to use their yard to launch all the new equipment and to receive the old, prior to it being loaded up and taken away.
