August saw a Walcon team busy at Portishead Quays Marina, a short distance outside the city of Bristol. The project was an extension to the existing marina designed to create 28 new berths for larger yachts. The Walcon Wizard made the trip around Land's End and up the Bristol Channel to install the additional piles, and Walcon built and installed the full-serviced System 2000 pontoons.
The work was completed by the end of August and the first yacht to come alongside the new pontoons was a Fairline Squadron 58. Since then a number of larger yachts have moved to the new berths from elsewhere in the marina to make them their new home.
Portishead Quays Marina is owned by Quay Marinas, which has seven marinas around the UK.
