Earlier this year we were at Boatfolk's Conwy Marina in North Wales to install over 300 metres of 3-metre width pontoons to create a new back walkway complete with GRP mesh decking. This involved removing all the piers with their finger pontoons and then, once dredging was completed, installing the new walkway. We also added short extensions to five of the seven piers and added some new finger pontoons on each, after which we replaced the originals back in position. The constrained nature of the site made this a challenging exercise. This project is the first of a number of phases that will result in the complete renewal and reconfiguration of the marina, which first opened in 1994.
