We've been busy at Haslar Marina over the close season, with our barges hard at work.The first job for the Walcon Wizard and Wolf was managing the installation of new piles for their Haslar's iconic lightship, which was being repositioned. The steel piles were rather unusual and needed special treatment. Two of them were 34 metres long and 813 millimetres in diameter and were inserted by driving 24 metre piles and then welding the final ten metres on the top of each. A further six, 25m steel piles were also installed. At the same time piers F and H were extended as part of the ongoing expansion programme. More Haslar news to follow...
