Workboat facility for Lagos, Nigeria

We have recently built and delivered a berthing facility for the new LASWA Head Office currently in build at Falamo, Ikoyo on the outskirts of Lagos. LASWA is the Lagos State Waterways Authority; the government agency responsible for maintaining and regulating the waterways in and around the megacity.

The facility is made up five piers, each 23-metres in length, extending out from a 75-metre rear walkway. These have been built using heavy duty System 21 pontoons. The marina will be used by the Authority’s crew supply vessels to take personnel to and from work sites. As part of the package, Walcon hosted two members of the LASWA dockside crew for several days in the UK, training them in assembly and maintenance. Walcon has undertaken previous projects in Nigeria over the years, and it is a pleasure to be doing business there once again.
