Clive Kemp, who started in the Walcon Marine drawing office before working his way up to Commercial Director, has retired after 42 years at the company. A key figure in the management team for many years, Clive’s technical knowledge and easy manner won him many friends across the industry and he will be much missed there as well as within Walcon itself.
He leaves the company in good shape with a healthy orderbook and his responsibilities will be taken over by estimating manager Ken Limburn, who has been with Walcon for 18 years, and Russell Brenton, who joined the estimating team in 2017. Colin Bower, who joined us this year with the acquisition of Docking Solutions, will also be fully involved with the Walcon product range, making the sales team even stronger. Clive isn’t disappearing straight away. He will be attending the Walcon party at the Southampton Boat Show and will also be at METS, Amsterdam in November.
