Equipment is currently arriving on site in the Sultanate of Oman prior to the installation of heavy-duty pontoons for the vessels operated by Royal Omani Police and Coastguard in the Arabian Gulf. This is part of a major new Coast Guard Harbour and facilities currently being constructed at Muscat-Sidab. The marina will be positioned behind a new 370m breakwater and has been fabricated using special structured steel pontoons three metres in width. The layout comprises of seven piers, each of which is being treated with a special paint system to protect the steel.
Walcon is working with the main contractor Carillion Alawi LLC on the project. Completion of the marina is expected by the end of the year.
