More projects in the Low Countries

Marinapark Leukermeer

Walcon and its Benelux partner Infra Trading have completed three more projects in the Netherlands. One of these involved extending the existing installation at the new Marina Park at Leukermeer (pictured), a development providing luxury holiday villas and apartments. Three existing piers were lengthened and a new, 90 metre pier added. In all, 28 finger piers were installed providing 56 additional berths for boats up to 13 metres in length. The work was completed in good time for the start of the summer sailing system.

Smaller projects included the fitting of a 70-metre walkways for vessels to moor alongside at Mulder Yacht Service on the Eastern Scheldt, on the outskirts of the historic city of Zierikzee. A pontoon especially designed and built by Walcon to take a pair of salvage pumps was also installed by Infra Trading.

Lastly, 14 finger pontoons, each 10 metres in length, were supplied to contractor Tebezo BV for a project at Lauwersoog. Special requirements included plastic floats with a high freeboard of 680 mm and, in addition to the galvanising on the steel work, a black paint system was applied for additional protection. Instead of traditional hardwood decking, galvanised grating was fitted.
